Addis Ababa – In a bold display of singlehood, Binyam Teshome took to the streets of Arat Kilo with a cardboard sign declaring his search for a wife. Things took a strange turn when he began proposing to what turned out to be a well-dressed mannequin in a shop window.

Onlookers were both confused and entertained. “He was pouring his heart out to plastic,” said one witness.

Undeterred, Binyam says his public love campaign will continue until he finds “someone who laughs at his jokes and lets him hold the remote.”

So far, he's received two real offers, one handwritten note from an auntie, and a friendship bracelet from another lonely man named Dawit who just said, “Respect.”

Binyam remains hopeful: “If this doesn’t work, I’m trying the National Theatre next week.”

Addis Ababa – A taxi driver in Bole has gained fame for claiming he can predict traffic jams by simply sniffing the morning air.

“If I smell grilled corn and frustration, it’s definitely blocked,” said Tamirat Abebe, confidently explaining his unorthodox method.

Passengers say Tamirat’s predictions are surprisingly accurate — unless he has a cold. Last week, he misjudged the traffic and ended up stuck for two hours. “My nose was blocked, not the road,” he shrugged.

When asked if he uses Google Maps, Tamirat chuckled, “Google doesn’t smell Addis. I do.”
